For those of us who live in Colorado life is just a little different. I saw on Denver’s Channel 7 last night that there is a test that is recommended for babies before birth to make sure they have sufficient oxygen saturation in their blood. Anywhere else in the country a 95% sat rate is considered normal, but here at 5000 feet+ our babies don’t reach that level. In Leadville they might not even register. Those that visit our state call our air rare or thin. We call it pure.
I live in Salida and feel blessed to be able, thanks to fiber optics, the internet and occasionally my car, reach all of my fellow Coloradans. When it comes to life insurance, you don’t need to take your money out of the state to get the best prices available in the world. You don’t need to seek out Selectquote, Accuquote or Reliaquote in your quest to protect your Colorado family with life insurance at the best possible prices.
If you have a Colorado business or are a partner in a business outside the state and need business insurance like life insurance to fund a buy/sell agreement, I’ve got you covered. While your business partner, whether in another state or overseas, likely doesn’t have an agent that can do the job for both of you, I can. I’m licensed in all 50 states and DC and have permission from several large US companies to write business outside the US. I can bring it all together for you in one office.
While we’re a healthy lot here in CO but, if for some reason you have health issues, well, again I’m the agency to go to. Working in tandem with CPS/Special Risk Services in Littleton I’ve become one of the leading impaired risk life insurance agencies in the country and easily in Colorado. My client base consists of about 15% private pilots and 60% people who have been declined for life insurance through other agents and agencies. The truth is that not all life insurance agents and life insurance companies are created equal. Far too often the unknowing choice of the wrong agent who unknowingly picks the wrong company can spell disaster for you. While being declined or highly rated by one company isn’t the end of the line, it feels like it. Finding the right agent that can fix the problem isn’t quite like a free life time ski pass for all of Colorado, and OK, it probably doesn’t feel like it either, but it feels good to have that taken care of, tucked away and in force at a fair price.
For those of you who use Colorado as your own private playground, whether skiing, rafting or kayaking, notching your 14er belt with the last of our 53 or ice climbing in Ouray, I have an outlet for high risk insurance. Believe it or not most companies consider going above 13,000 feet to be mountain climbing and therefore a dangerous hobby. Never mind you don’t need a rope to get to 14+. The same companies would consider just breathing air in Colorado to be dangerous, let alone exerting yourself while breathing it. My clients include competitive skydivers, people that climb mountains that, ouch, make 14ers look like hills, professional athletes. Extreme sports or extreme travel are not a problem.
While Colorado trails the nation in obesity, it doesn’t take much extra weight to impact your life insurance rates and I have companies that can still come through with fair rates for those that don’t fit the normal life insurance mold.
Bottom line. I’ve been blogging to the world about how to understand and win at life insurance for years and I hope to bring my knowledge and expertise home to Colorado with information on the specific challenges and advantages that we enjoy as citizens of this beautiful state. If you have any questions or have run into any bumps in the road trying to obtain life insurance, please call, email directly or just stop by. Let’s talk.

[...] at all. You’re not going to see Met Life or Principal covering, for instance, any of the guides or principals of a mountain climbing guide service while we can not only cover it, but cover it at higher limits than Met would, if they [...]
[...] Living in Colorado we view mountain climbing, at least in state, as exercise and recreation. With 54 fourteeners in our state, a goal for many is to try to book all of them while still young enough to enjoy it. Most are no more than trail climbing with more danger coming from the weather than the actual ascent/descent. I’ve found a few life insurance companies who will allow this trail climbing type of activity at standard rates with no flat extra and include some of the most popular out of state climbs such as Mt’s Rainer and Hood.
